Brunei is a small country located in Southeast ASIA on the island of Borneo. It is a SULTANATE, which means it is ruled by a sultan. The current sultan is Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, who has been in power since 1967. Brunei is a MALAY-speaking nation and is home to the ethnic group known as the Senoi. The country is also known for its sultans, who have been ruling the country since the 15th century. Brunei is also known as the Abode of Peace, or Seri Begawan, and is one of the wealthiest countries in ASIA.
