Garth Brooks was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a city of approximately 400, 000 people located in the northeastern part of the state. It is the second-largest city in Oklahoma and is often referred to as the 'Oil Capital of the World.' The surrounding area is known as the Tulsa Metropolitan Area, or TMA, and includes the cities of Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Owasso, Jenks, Bixby, Sand Springs, Sapulpa, and Claremore. The state of Oklahoma is also known as the 'SOONER State' and its residents are known as 'Sooners.' The term 'All' is used to refer to the entire state of Oklahoma.
