Brett Spiner is an actor best known for his role as the android DATA in the Star Trek franchise. He first appeared as DATA in the movie Star Trek: Generations in 1994 and continued to play the character in the television series Star Trek: The Next Generation and its four feature films. DATA is a sentient android who serves as the second officer and chief operations officer aboard the USS Enterprise-D and later the USS Enterprise-E.
