The Breastplate of Zeus, also known as the AEGIS or EGIS, was a shield that was said to have been given to Zeus by his father, Cronus. It was made of goatskin and had a fringe of serpents. The AEGIS was believed to be a powerful symbol of protection and was often used in battle. The EGIS was a smaller version of the AEGIS, which was worn by Athena and other gods. Both the AEGIS and EGIS were symbols of divine protection and power.
