KIX, TRIX, BRAN, MUESLI, OATS, and OAT are all breakfast cereals that have been produced by the cereal pioneer C.W. Post. Post was an American entrepreneur who founded the Postum Cereal Company in 1895, which later became General Foods Corporation. He is credited with inventing the first ready-to-eat breakfast cereal, Grape-Nuts, in 1897. Post also created other popular cereals such as Post Toasties, Post Raisin BRAN, and Post Shredded Wheat. His cereals were some of the first to be marketed directly to consumers, and he was a pioneer in the development of breakfast cereals.
