Borealis is the scientific name for the Aurora, or Northern Lights. It is a natural light display in the sky, usually seen in the Arctic and Antarctic regions. Borealis is caused by collisions between electrically charged particles from the sun that enter the Earth's atmosphere. The particles are then diverted by the Earth's magnetic field into the atmosphere where they collide with gas particles. This collision results in the emission of light, which is seen as the Aurora Borealis.
