The INCUS, also known as the ANVIL, is a bone in the middle ear. It is one of the three ossicles, or small bones, that are located in the middle ear and are responsible for transmitting sound from the outer ear to the inner ear. The INCUS is the second smallest bone in the human body and is shaped like an ANVIL. It is connected to the malleus, or hammer, and the stapes, or stirrup, which together form the ossicular chain.
