Charon is a boatman of Greek mythology who ferries souls of the dead across the river Styx to the Underworld. He is often depicted as an old man with a long beard and wearing a hooded cloak. CHARON is the son of Erebus and Nyx, and is the only one who can cross the river Styx and bring the souls of the dead to the Underworld. He is also known as the Boatman of Hades, and is sometimes referred to as the Ferryman of the Dead.
