Beale Street in Memphis, Tennessee is a historic street known for its blues music. It is often referred to as the 'Home of the Blues' and is a popular tourist destination. The street was named after a prominent African-American businessman and philanthropist, Robert Church, Sr., who owned much of the land along the street.
