Blitzen is one of the eight REINDEER associated with Santa Claus in traditional Christmas folklore. The REINDEER's name is derived from the German word 'BLITZ, ' meaning 'LIGHTNING.' Blitzen is often depicted as being the fastest of the REINDEER, and is sometimes referred to as 'Flashingerman' due to his speed. He is usually accompanied by his brother, Donner, and his cousin, Rudolph. In some versions of the story, Blitzen is also accompanied by his wife, Und. Together, Blitzen and the other REINDEER help Santa deliver presents to children around the world on Christmas Eve.
