Earl Derr Biggers was an American author and screenwriter best known for creating the fictional Chinese-American detective Charlie Chan. His first novel, 'The House Without a Key, ' was published in 1925. He also wrote several other novels featuring Chan, including 'The Chinese Parrot' (1926), 'Behind That Curtain' (1928), and 'The Feathered Serpent' (1934). His last novel, 'Fatha, ' was published in 1945. His screenwriting credits include 'Essex' (1930) and 'Teas' (1931). He was also the creator of the popular radio series 'Charlie Chan in the TITLE' (1932-1933).
