He was also the host of ESPN's ESPY Awards from 1993 to 2004. Irv Cross is a former professional American football player and sportscaster. He was the first African-American to become a regular analyst on a national sports show, The NFL Today on CBS. He was also a studio analyst for ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown. Len Berman and Irv Cross are both associated with the sports broadcasting career of Marv Albert, who is known as 'The Voice of Basketball' and 'The Voice of the New York Knicks'.
