BERGONZI, FOR ONE is a reference to the Italian TENOR, Giuseppe Bergonzi. He was born in Bologna, Italy in 1929 and began his career as a professional singer in 1951. He was known for his powerful voice and his ability to sing a wide range of operatic roles. He was particularly noted for his interpretations of Verdi and Puccini operas. He performed at many of the world's leading opera houses, including La Scala in Milan, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and the Royal Opera House in London. He retired from singing in 1994 and died in 2018.
