Isaac Bashevis Singer was a Polish-American writer who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1978. He is best known for his short stories and novels written in Yiddish, which often focus on the experiences of Jewish immigrants in America. He was born in Poland in 1904 and moved to the United States in 1935. His works have been translated into more than 20 languages and have been adapted into films and plays.
