Nomar Garciaparra is a former Major League Baseball player who played for the Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Oakland Athletics. He was a six-time All-Star and two-time Silver Slugger Award winner. He was also the 1997 American League Rookie of the Year. Garciaparra is one of the most popular players in Red Sox history and his name is often used to refer to baseball's Garciaparra.
