Bandleader Tito Puente was a renowned Latin jazz and salsa musician, composer, and arranger. He was born in New York City in 1923 and was known as 'The King of Latin Music'. Puente was a multi-instrumentalist who played the timbales, vibraphone, and piano. He was also a bandleader and led his own orchestra for over 50 years. Puente was a Grammy Award winner and was inducted into the International Latin Music Hall of Fame in 1993.
