Shep Fields was an American jazz bandleader and clarinetist who was active in the 1930s and 1940s. He is best known for his Rippling Rhythm Orchestra, which was popular during the swing era. He was also a composer and arranger, and wrote several hit songs such as 'The Dipsy Doodle' and 'Rippling Waters'. He was a pioneer in the use of the saxophone in jazz music. He was inducted into the Big Band and Jazz Hall of Fame in 1985.
