Johann Sebastian Bach was a German composer and musician of the Baroque period. He is known for his many compositions, including Partitas, Chorales, Fugues, and Suites. Partitas are a type of Baroque instrumental composition, usually consisting of several dance movements. Chorales are hymns or sacred songs, often with four-part harmony. Fugues are contrapuntal compositions in which a short melody or phrase is introduced in one part and then imitated by others. Suites are collections of dance movements, often in the same key. All of these compositions were written by Bach during his lifetime.
