Herman Wouk is an American author best known for his novels The Caine Mutiny and Marjorie Morningstar. He was born in 1915 in New York City and has written numerous works of fiction, non-fiction, and plays. He won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1952 for The Caine Mutiny and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1998. Wouk's works often explore themes of Jewish identity and faith.
