Nadine Gordimer was an author and Nobel Laureate from South Africa. She was born in 1923 and wrote 15 novels, as well as numerous short stories, essays, and other works. Her works often explored the complex social and political issues of her native country. She was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1991 for her 'magnificent epic writing which has been of very great benefit to humanity'.
