Australian marsupials are a group of mammals that are native to Australia and have a pouch in which they carry their young. Two of the most well-known Australian marsupials are wombats and koalas. Wombats are short-legged, burrowing animals with thick, muscular bodies and are typically around 1 meter in length. Koalas are arboreal marsupials that are known for their large, fluffy ears and distinctive black noses. They are usually around 60 cm in length and weigh up to 14 kg.
