The Numbat, also known as the Banded Anteater, is an Australian marsupial found in the south-west of Western Australia. It is the only member of its genus and is listed as endangered due to habitat loss and predation by foxes and cats. The Numbat is a small, solitary animal that feeds mainly on termites and has a distinctive black and white striped coat. It is one of the few remaining species of anteaters in the world and is an important part of Australia's unique biodiversity.
