Australia's Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock, is a large sandstone rock formation located in the Northern Territory of Australia. It is considered to be a sacred part of Aboriginal Australian culture and is one of the country's most recognizable landmarks. The traditional name for Uluru is given by the local Anangu people as Uluṟu, and the English name Ayers Rock was named after Sir Henry Ayers, the Chief Secretary of South Australia from 1855 to 1873.
