The ESPY is an acronym for Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Award, which is an annual award presented by the American broadcast television network ABC and the ESPN sports channel to recognize individual and team athletic achievement and other sports-related performance during the calendar year preceding a given annual ceremony. It was first presented in 1993 and has been held annually since then.
