The Arctic region is known for its extreme weather and hazardous conditions. Two of the most common Arctic hazards are bergs and floes. Berg is a term used to describe large chunks of ice that have broken off from glaciers or icebergs, while floe is a term used to describe a sheet of floating ice. Both of these hazards can be dangerous to ships and other vessels travelling through the Arctic waters.
