April Occurrence is a term used to describe the annual meteor SHOWER known as the Lyrids. The Lyrids are active from April 16th to April 25th each year, and peak on the night of April 22nd. The SHOWER is caused by the Earth passing through the debris trail of Comet Thatcher, which orbits the sun once every 415 years. The Lyrids are known for their bright, long-lasting trails, and can produce up to 20 meteors per hour at their peak.
