An appellate judge, often referred to as a CITER (5 letters), is a judge who reviews decisions made by lower courts. They are responsible for determining whether the lower court's decision was correct or if it should be overturned. Appellate judges are usually appointed by the government and serve on a panel of three or more judges. They review the facts of the case and make a decision based on the law.
