The Apollo Program Destination was the MOON. The Apollo Program was a human spaceflight program conducted by the United States from 1961 to 1972. It was the third US human spaceflight program to fly, preceded by the two-person Project Gemini which was designed to develop space travel techniques to support the Apollo mission to land astronauts on the MOON. The Apollo Program achieved its goal of landing the first humans on the MOON on July 20, 1969.
