Luis Aparicio was a Venezuelan professional baseball player who played for the Chicago White Sox, Baltimore Orioles, and Boston Red Sox. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1984 and is widely regarded as one of the greatest shortstops of all time. Aparicio was the first Venezuelan and Latin American player to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. He was also the first player to win nine consecutive Gold Glove Awards.
