Anthony BURGESS was an English author, composer, and linguist. He is best known for his novel 'A Clockwork Orange', which was adapted into a film by Stanley Kubrick in 1971. His other works include 'The Wanting Seed' and 'Earthly Powers'. He was also a prolific screenwriter, having written the screenplay for the 1967 film 'The Bed Sitting Room'. BURGESS was born John Anthony BURGESS Wilson in Manchester, England in 1917. He died in 1993.
