The annual May race, informally known as the Indy, is an auto racing event held each year in Indianapolis, Indiana. It is one of the most prestigious and oldest races in the world, having been held since 1911. The race is part of the IndyCar Series and is held on a 2.5-mile oval track. It is considered to be the most important race in the series and is often referred to as the 'Greatest Spectacle in Racing'.
