Anglo Saxon Kings were rulers of England from the 5th to 11th centuries. ALFRED the Great, Edward the Elder, Egbert, EDGAR, Ini, Edmund and Ethelred were all Anglo Saxon Kings. ALFRED the Great was the first king of the West Saxons and is known for his defense against the Viking invasions. Edward the Elder was the son of ALFRED the Great and succeeded him as king. Egbert was the first king to establish a unified kingdom of all of England. EDGAR was the son of Edward the Elder and was crowned king at the age of 16. Ini was the king of Wessex from 688 to 726. Edmund was the son of Edward the Elder and succeeded him as king. Ethelred was the son of EDGAR and succeeded him as king.
