The Los Angeles Dodgers are a professional baseball team based in Los Angeles, California. They compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the National League (NL) West division. The team is one of the oldest franchises in MLB, and has won six World Series championships, the most of any team in the NL. The Dodgers were founded in 1883 as the Brooklyn Atlantics, and officially adopted the name Los Angeles Dodgers in 1958.
