Anemometer is a device used to measure WIND speed and direction. It consists of four components: a GUST, which is a sudden burst of WIND; a WIND, which is the air in motion; a VANE, which is a device that indicates the direction of the WIND; and an anemograph, which is a device that records the speed of the WIND over time. Additionally, anemometers can also be referred to as windgauges, which measure the force of the WIND.
