Andrew Lloyd Webber is an English composer and impresario of musical theatre. He is best known for his musicals, which include Cats, Evita, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Phantom of the Opera, and Sunset Boulevard. He has composed 13 musicals, a song cycle, a set of variations, two film scores, and a Latin Requiem Mass. He has received numerous awards, including a knighthood in 1992, followed by a peerage from the British Government for services to Music.
