Toots and the Maytals is a Jamaican ska and reggae band formed in the early 1960s. The group was led by singer and songwriter TOOTS Hibbert, and included musicians Raleigh Gordon and Jerry Matthias. The band released their debut album, 'Do the Reggay' in 1968, which is credited with popularizing the genre of reggae music. They have since released numerous albums and singles, and have been credited with influencing many other reggae and ska artists.
