The Ancient Roman Cloak was an important part of the wardrobe of Ancient Romans. It was made up of two parts, the ABOLLA and the SAGUM. The ABOLLA was a large circular cloak made of wool or linen that was worn over the shoulders and fastened at the neck. The SAGUM was a shorter cloak made of leather or fur that was worn over the ABOLLA and fastened at the shoulder. Both cloaks were used to protect the wearer from the elements and were often decorated with embroidery.
