The Ancient Roman Citizenry was composed of two main classes: the Plebs (5 letters) and the Patricians. The Plebs were the lower class citizens who were mainly farmers, artisans, and merchants. They had limited rights and were not allowed to hold public office. The Patricians were the upper class citizens who held most of the political power and were the only ones allowed to hold public office.
