The Ancient Kingdom Near the Dead Sea is composed of two kingdoms, Moab and Edom. Moab was an ancient kingdom located east of the Dead Sea in modern-day Jordan. It was ruled by a succession of kings from the 9th century BC to the 6th century AD. Edom was an ancient kingdom located south of the Dead Sea in modern-day Jordan and Israel. It was ruled by a succession of kings from the 10th century BC to the 4th century BC. Both Moab and Edom were powerful kingdoms in their time and played an important role in the history of the region.
