Bede, also known as Saint BEDE or the Venerable BEDE, was an ancient British historian who lived in the 7th and 8th centuries. He is best known for his work 'Ecclesiastical History of the English People', which is considered to be one of the most important sources of early English history. He was a monk at the monastery of St. Peter and Paul in Wearmouth-Jarrow, and wrote many other works on theology, philosophy, and science. He is remembered as one of the most influential figures in early medieval Britain.
