The Ancient Balkan Region was an area located in southeastern Europe and was home to two distinct regions: Thrace (6 letters) and Thracia (7 letters). Thrace was a historical and geographic area in southeast Europe, bounded by the Balkan Mountains to the north, the Aegean Sea to the south, and the Black Sea to the east. Thracia was a Roman province located in the same region as Thrace, and was established in 46 AD. Both Thrace and Thracia were important parts of the Ancient Balkan Region and played a significant role in its history.
