Peter Jennings was an American journalist and news anchor who worked for ABC News from 1964 until his death in 2005. He was the sole anchor of ABC's World News Tonight from 1983 to 2005. Jennings was known for his professionalism, intelligence, and wit. He was also a five-time Emmy Award winner and a recipient of the George Foster Peabody Award. Jennings was posthumously inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 2006.
