Anchor Man is a term used to describe a variety of different occupations. The first is a SWABBY, which is a slang term for a SAILOR in the United States Navy. A SAILOR is someone who works on a ship, usually as part of the crew. A Bosn is a SAILOR who is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the ship. Lastly, an ENTERTAINER is someone who performs for an audience, usually in the form of music, comedy, or other forms of entertainment. All of these occupations are related to the term Anchor Man, which is a term used to describe someone who is responsible for the safe navigation of a ship.
