Tom Brokaw is an American journalist and television news anchor. He is best known for his work as the anchor and managing editor of NBC Nightly News from 1982 to 2004. He is also known for his role as the anchor of the television news magazine program, Dateline NBC. Brokaw is also the author of several books, including The Greatest Generation, which chronicles the lives of Americans who lived through World War II. He is also a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
