The American pianist, Oscar LEVANT, was a renowned composer, actor, and author. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1906 and is best known for his witty remarks and musical compositions. He was a close friend of George Gershwin and collaborated with him on several projects. LEVANT was also a successful solo artist, performing in concerts and recitals throughout the United States. He died in 1972 at the age of 65.
