American Indian dwellings are traditional structures used by Native Americans for shelter. The most common types of dwellings are TEEPEE, also known as tipi, which is a conical tent made of animal skins or birch bark and wooden poles; hogan, a traditional Navajo dwelling made of logs and mud; pueblo, a multi-story adobe structure built by the Pueblo Indians; WIGWAM, a dome-shaped structure made of wooden poles and covered with birch bark; TEEPEE, a cone-shaped structure made of animal skins and wooden poles; LODGE, a large structure made of logs and mud; and WICKIUP, a dome-shaped structure made of wooden poles and covered with grass or bark.
