Queen Noor is an American-born Jordanian Queen. She was born Lisa Najeeb Halaby in Washington, D.C. in 1951 and married King Hussein of Jordan in 1978. She was the fourth wife of the King and became Queen of Jordan upon his death in 1999. Queen Noor has been a strong advocate for peace and human rights in the Middle East and around the world. She has also been involved in numerous charitable and humanitarian causes.
