Alternative medicine plant is a term used to describe plants that are used in traditional or folk medicine for healing purposes. Two examples of alternative medicine plants are Aloe and Sawpalmetto. Aloe is a succulent plant with thick, fleshy leaves that contain a gel-like substance that has been used for centuries to treat skin conditions and wounds. Sawpalmetto is a small palm tree native to the southeastern United States whose berries have been used to treat urinary and reproductive problems.
