The term ALPINE SOUND is composed of three words: YODEL (5 letters), ECHO (4 letters) and YODELING (8 letters). Yodeling is a traditional form of singing that originated in the Alps, a mountain range in Europe. It involves rapidly alternating between the normal voice and a falsetto voice, creating a unique sound. An ECHO is a sound that is repeated after it is produced, usually due to reflection off of a surface. Yodeling is often used to create an ECHO effect, as the sound bounces off of the mountains and is repeated back.
