Alpha Centauri is a triple STAR system located in the constellation Centaurus. It is the closest STAR system to our Solar System, located 4.37 light-years away. The three stars that make up Alpha Centauri are Alpha Centauri A, Alpha Centauri B, and Proxima Centauri. Alpha Centauri A and B are also known as Rigil Kentaurus and Toliman, respectively. Alpha Centauri A is the brightest of the three stars and is classified as a type G2V STAR, while Alpha Centauri B is a type K1V STAR. OMEGA Centauri is a globular cluster located in the same constellation, but it is not part of the Alpha Centauri system. BETA Centauri is another STAR system located in the same constellation, but it is much farther away from us than Alpha Centauri.
